This shard deserves at least that.

If it's done, just let us know.

Dont always expect the worst.

I would simply like to have the physical server in my possession and someone else run the shard. I just don't know much about it.

You can install RunUO on your own PC if you like. If you have an internet-access with static IP, you can theoretically run your own shard.
If you however only want to be responsible for the hardware ("Server") and not the shard (Software) than you have to find staff.
But know that it sounds really easy to "just run a shard" or "server" from home... There are MANY hickups... Power issues (Hope you dont mind having a UPS next to your PC), Hardware gets killed by 24/7-Operation (even specialised Server-hardware is not really failsave), A lot of RAM is needed, Specific server-rated hardware is needed (Your normal WD green or Blue green wont hold up very long, better invest in a WD purple or red (for a BIT more money than you may be used to)), static IP with VERY high uptime, Software just hangs up from time to time by constant run, hardware can just experience a sporadic problem, you have to find someone who can come to your house and access the server physically if you ever plan on going on vacation/army/worktrip (Or you are in the same shit as we may be atm)...
Anyway: I wish you good luck in your endeveour.

Also remember that if you install runUO, the world will be quite empty... You will have to add tons of stuff to have it "live" a bit...

If I were to transfer our last save over to a new server, would you be interested in helping to recreate this world as we knew it?

Me? No. No time and experience with that.

And with "as we knew it" you mean Alexandria or Production-Servers? Alexandria has a TON of custom made content one would have to get somehow and adapt or build new from scratch. Production-Servers also have a lot of content apart from the world. Quests, Workflows and such stuff... As i dont play Production-servers since... AGES... i dont even know what they have in terms of delta "naked" installation vs live shard.

I am talking about moving this shard over to a stable and newer server.

I am posing the question in the other thread regarding the server being down

Groups:
You'll want to use servuo instead of runuo as the runuo project was abandoned a while ago.

In regards to migrating lexia to your server; the only one who can give you the files required to do it is CEO. Sadly all we can do is wait and hope all is well with CEO.

I'm sorry, I've been taking classes this semester and to be frank wasn't aware it was down. I had a text message that it was low on disk space (again) and thought I fixed it and restarted, that was about a week ago. I've found a file that was 4.7gb that was a log file that I was able to delete which should get breathing room again until I can get to the colo and swap the SSD drive out to a spare 128GB that I have here. The shard should be up now.

Sorry!

OK. Got an email back from CEO.
He is alive and well. He has a lot at hand and runs low on time. So please bear with him.

The problem seems to be low space on the main drive. He looks to swap in a bigger SSD in as main drive. Could take a bit.

So TL;DR:
- he is well. My main concern handled. Very happy about that.
- he is now aware of the problem
- he has a solution to put in place
- he is short on time and so the solution may take a while to be put in place.

I will drop 50$ thru the donations tomorrow. SSDs aren't free. ;)

Edit: hahaha! You got me by 2 mins! :)
