 Post subject: Question on PVP SDI Cap

I'm curious how the SDI cap is implemented here. Is it configured like it is described below? ...or is it a hard 15% cap like it use to be on OSI?

Spell Damage Increase (SDI) is an item property that, surprisingly, increases the damage of most magical attacks that are cast. While this property is capped at 15% for PvP, the cap further increases from 15% to 30% for templates having no more than 30 modified skill points in another main skill like Magery, Necromancy, Mysticism, Focus, Ninjitsu, Bushido, Animal Taming, Musicianship, Chivalry and Spellweaving. For PvE there is no cap on spell damage, so pack it on.

Evidently it is so. This makes me want to hold a PVP tourney where participants are all shirtless.

This link is Incorrect with the DI dmg on a weapon ... i have a mace with 51 damage increase and it is not gambled or anything like that it is crafted however i dont know where i put it but i guarantee i have seen it a few times

Also if you post shirtless pictures of your self in the rl pic thread i heard it raises all the caps .00001% (its worth it and you should do it)

There is actually a big problem. With inscription + 120 magery + 120 eval + 15%SDI there is no damage difference from gm to legendary eval or magery.... Does scribe not factor in on this shard? 15% pvp cap no matter what? Wrestle mages are worthless in this case.

Scribe is factored in, in regards to Sdi after it's capped, so yes, it should be working.

Looking at the code, here is my findings:

-SDI Caps only apply in PVP, ie the caster is a player and the target is a player.
-SDI is capped at 15% or 30% (if you have no other focus spells).
-SDI altering effects, such as Arcane Empowerment, Fish Pies, Phychic Attack, Sash of Warding, Race Bonus, etc are factored in before it is capped
-Reaper Form bonus is applied after the cap
-SDI is then combined with scribe bonus after the cap, so the cap does not effect the scribe bonus

Magery only effects damage in one spell, thats mind blast.

dex thank you for posting this. But can you tell us about why curse doesn't drop resists properly? will that ever be fixed? Im a dexxer and even I see the imbalance without it. A simple curse fix could easily silence the haters on this issue...
