With all the talk about PvP, i guess i can post a few "tricks".
(you can still win in PvP without any of this info, but is might make you faster)

Razor/uoa will make you faster at PvP, and is a MUST have.

1. Buy a 5 button ps2 mouse with a scroll. (not usb)

2. In your keyboard settings (in contral panel) you can turn up the repeat rate, also make the repeat delay short. this will make you like 0.2 sec faster.
Some keyboards might have more setting under the hardware tab, in properties.

3.In mouse setting (in control panel) set the scroll to scroll 1 screen at a time. (this will make the scroll the fastest button on your computer).

4. set scroll forward "last target" set scroll back "target self" (in razor)
this will make you 1-4 sec's faster, because the time it takes to hit a key pick hand up hit another key pick hand up again and put it back where it was.

5.in mouse settings, hardware tab, then properties, then advaced settings
set the sample rate high as you can (im at 200 reports a sec)
Also set the input buffer length as high as you can ( im at 300 packets)
this will also make you like 0.2 sec faster.

6. set 2 of the mouse buttons to drink "heal pot", and "drink cure pot" (in razor)

7. NEVER use a scrpit to pvp, or heal you in pvp, its not smart enough,
and its "timing" will get you killed. And it cant think about what your "opponent" is going to do next. YOU can!

I have many more "tips" i will post after i see what kind of replys i get!
Feel free to post any "tricks" you use to pvp!

If you use this info wisely, it could save you 1.5 to 4.5 sec's in just hitting a few keys,
and could add up to over a min very fast.

...... Some setting might be diffrent on your computer, feel free to look around in your keyboard and mouse settings for ways to make them faster!

Wow, nice tips. I've never PvP myself, but I have been interested in the secrecy of the trade. There are websites out there that charge membership fees to give tips and tricks like the ones you've given. I guess there must be money to be made on OSI shards from the loot you get from your kills. It's all still a mystery to me. I just prefer the social aspect of getting a group together and going hunting. PvP seems like such a solitary trade. Just not for me, I guess. Sorry.

Group PvP is all there is, not many ways you can kill 2 or 3 poeple ready to pvp, unless you got 2 or 3 poeple ready to fight.
(all the poeple with pvp smarts, of course)

And most PvP "Do"s, also help in PvM.

i would say alot of the web sites that offer tips are from "hacker" web site!
Stay away from them, unless you know about the owner.

Actually, USB transfers data faster than ps/2. However, with a USB mouse, there is more of a chance for drive conflicts. But there really isn't anything to worry about if you have a modern mouse. I am using a wireless 6 button mouse and am able to keep up with everyone that I fight, provided that there is no lag.

This may or may not be a good thing to do. On most shards, there is a delay between actions. You can't cast a spell twice as fast if your keyboard types faster.

Scroll wheel has nothing to do with PVP in most cases, unless you are using the middle mouse button, but again, there should be no reason to change the speed on this. Unless you are using a program that can actually take advantage of the scroll wheel like Razor or UOA, then don't change this.

Pots are for the weak :P

You can script depending on what you are. If you are a mage with a hand free, use a pot chugging script, other than that, it usually isn't a good idea to script during pvp.

i just did not have any settings in my usb mouse driver to make it faster, so i use ps2. I love settings

i dont really see how you can say, a slower keyboard is faster then faster one.

Everything about UO for me has to do with the scroll, i just scroll the piss out of it and cast/hit macros with other hand. its much easyer to scroll, then press a button, and it frees up keyboard keys for other macros.

And if your running a script to drink pots, there are MANY times, you need to use them that the script would not know about.

i was just looking for ways to make stuff faster, and i found that stuff, many years ago. And they work for me!
And i know they make me better and faster at PvP.

what other tips you got to help newer PvPers, freddy?
guess we need to duel? I bet i can beat you!

Here are some of the things that I've learned while PVPing on OSI servers.

1. Don't rush, be patient. Try to attack an opponent when they least expect it.

2. Don't rez kill. Thats just lame.

3. Don't whine when you die.

4. Don't brag when you kill someone.

5. Make sure your armor is always repaired and insured.

6. Keep extra supplies in your bank. Bandies, regs, pots, etc... That way, if you are on red, you don't have to worry about logging off, and getting your blue character to buy you supplies.

7. Don't take items into Fel if you are not prepared to lose those items.

8. ALWAYS call targets if PvPing with a group.

9. If doing a champ spawn, make sure you are properly defended. Keep the mages casting fields, have one blue protect and another blue attack the champ. The rest of that characters should be there for working the spawn and defense only.

LMMFAO, why does it have to be Yamaha? Why not you?

BTW. I don't have any developed characters on Alexandria, I was just rich at one point. :P

@ Snicker
Freddy vs. Yamaha = Yamaha
Freddy vs. Snicker = Snicker
Yamaha vs. Snicker = Snicker
WarLocke vs. All PvPers = WarLocke (lol)

I rated my above votes on experience and confidence that I am aware of with each player, my not giving Freddy any votes doesn't mean he can't PvP, just means until I am sure of his PvPness I would have to bet against him. Don't feel bad though Freddy, I'd bet against myself against any of ya ;)

Guess we have to wait for you to build a chr to pvp?

or is this another one of them posts .... where you are trying to be funny?

this was from the first post, not the edits.
Then i added the other info.

Not like it matters, this thread is lost anyways.
Seem like everyone just wants to pick apart other poeple's posts.
looks like no one wants to help out the begining PvPer, i guess i can understand that,
not like i see that many trying to pvp, besides a few thieves just to steal something.

I thought that 111 started this thread of excellently, it was EXACTLY the sort of thread we are always hoping players will take the time to post, and the attitude we hope for in our community.

His efforts got sidetracked and urinated upon a bit. Therefore, I am doing a seldom done thing, and deleting/hiding all the useless chaff posts in this thread. Please stay on topic / on vector in this thread.
